Compensation

In many ways, this the toughest, most uncomfortable, and sensitive part of a new venture. And it obviously differs at different stages. To me, the easiest thing to neglect is

1. Exit! Make sure all expectations are fulfilled. If you're being compensated in stock options, be sure to specify the exact number, how their vested (usually monthly) and when the vest ends

2. If you wait to be compensated (even partially) after the fact, it is much more difficult to have your contributions valued after the fact. The risk will almost always not be perceived the same and you will have a much harder time arguing your case
